Just how many withdrawals from PayPal accounts to bank accounts occured on 15th April 2012 is unknown but as of 24th April 2012 these funds have not cleared into the target bank accounts. Many ebay sellers are facing ruination and PayPal has not as yet provided any satisfactory explanation.
Initially there was ‘no problem’. Now it is a ‘clearing house’ problem yet somehow PayPal technicians are ‘working on’ a system ( clearing house ) they should not have access to.
At worst there has been some fraud that the PayPal users have not been made aware of.
If you have been affected then ‘Make some noise’.
As of 24th April 2012 there is not so much as a peep on the internet.

Technically speaking there is only one Queen BUT the eggs she lays can differentiate and mature into workers, soldiers and other reproductives. Apart from the individuals who mature into flying alates ( the masses you see around lights on warm evenings ) there are also what are called supplementary reproductives. These can assist with egg laying in the main colony and help establish sub-nests ( satellite colonies ) as the termites expand their foraging territory.
So there you have it.

The next time you see an ad that spruiks “Our poison is taken back to the Queen and the colony is killed” you will know to take this outcome with a pinch of salt.

This system is without a doubt the world’s most popular.
It is backed by many field tests carried out by experts in their field.
It has been observed over the years that these experts were either
on the direct payroll or stood to benefit from sales.
Unbiased tests ?
Many pest contollers won’t touch it with a barge pole simply because it’s primary mode of operation involves destroying many active termite activity zones ( called galleries ) in order to introduce the termiticide.
The method of termiticide introduction has been a standing joke for 20 years but you must never under estimate the power of persuasive advertising. 
The system itself ( as with all others ) is based on the simple principle that termites will attack any suitable food sources in the ground. A food source is presented in a container that can be inspected for signs of termite invasion. When termites are observed inside the monitor a termiticide ( killing agent ) is introduced. This termiticide is then transferred to other termites with the objective being colony destruction.
A wonderful theory but colony destruction in an every day situation can only be ‘inferred’. In almost all practical situations the central colony is never discovered. When sufficient termiticide is observed to have been eaten ( and presumably transferred ) colony destruction is declared.
The home owner is then advised that the battle has been won but the war will continue because ‘other’ colonies may be in the area which can pose a later threat.
What really happens in most cases is that a local sub-nest ( a satellite city of the main colony ) is killed off. Even this itself cannot be verified as the cessation of activity within the termite monitor could simply mean that an alternate food source has been found that is preferred or that the termites have associated the monitor with the death of their nest mates.

This underground world of termites is almost a mystery and accurate predications of their behaviour are non-existant. Their underground movements are subject to so many variables that inground termite monitoring is exactly as it has always been described and that is ‘a mixture of art and science’.

If you do find termite activity and have it treated there is still a very good chance that you will relieve the ‘termite pressure’ on your home.

It’s not all doom and gloom but the ultimate advice is
don’t let your guard down.
